Dr. Lee Merritt urged the American people not to buy into the hysteria following the Feb. 3 train crash in East Palestine, Ohio.
“What happened in Ohio with the train crash, I don’t believe this is an ecological disaster. Nor do I believe it’s a disaster for the local people like everyone thinks now,” she said during the Feb. 22 episode of the “Merritt Medical Hour” on Brighteon.TV.
“However, it could get a lot worse if we buy into hysteria that’s not justified. What they are really after in this whole thing, in my opinion, is to take down our food supply and our land grant. It’s a land grab because they are going to tell us things that aren’t true that cause people to panic.”
According to Merritt, Americans need to understand that the East Palestine train crash is being used as a scare tactic because they are coming after the productive farmlands. She added that residents of the affected Ohio town need to be compensated because of the bad publicity and damage that the incident has inflicted on them.
Merritt, a former Navy physician and surgeon, also exhorted her viewers not to believe the lies of federal agencies that are out to take their farmland and livelihood. She ultimately remarked that the American people should never allow propaganda to destroy their world.
“Don’t believe them. The way we get our lives back is we get out of the system and we stop believing the hysteria demonstrations that they put on.”
Merritt did acknowledge in her Brighteon.TV program that the Norfolk Southern railcars involved in the East Palestine accident contained tanks filled with toxic chemicals.
There were four railcars containing vinyl chloride that spilled and were burned later, producing dioxin. While burning trash also creates dioxin, she explained that this does not create a huge amount. The Agent Orange defoliant famously used in the jungles of Vietnam during the Vietnam War also belongs to the family of dioxins, Merritt added.
Aside from dioxin, the burning of the vinyl chloride also produced two other chemicals – phosgene and hydrochloric acid. She noted that the smell of hydrochloric acid lingered in the air for only a couple of days. There also was no acid rain as the derailment and spill was a very short-term event.
However, the other railcars contained ethylhexyl acrylate, isobutylene, butyl acrylates and ethylene glycol – the latter being used as antifreeze. Merritt remarked that ethylene glycol is probably the most toxic thing that leaked at the train crash site, as some people and animals die from ingesting it. These chemicals are indeed toxic. But giving in to the scare tactic of the government could be more destructive in the long run.
